Habanero Antilles Red / 10 seeds
(Capsicum chinense)
Caribbean chilli / pepperoni
Variety description: A solid 10. The hottest on the heat scale for the red Habanero pepperoni. The plant grows to 100-130 cm high and produces great, wrinkled and thin-walled fruits. When ripe, these are a full, intense red. They are 4-5 cm long and 3-4 cm wide and, despite their extreme heat, are tropically fruity and aromatic. The plant can even be overwintered in a pot.
Cultivation: Before sowing, moisten the soil, sprinkle seeds on top, cover very thinly and press down lightly. At 20°-26°C, the seeds germinate after 8-14 days.
Care: Give the young plants suitable fertilizer at the beginning of May. Special tomato and pepper fertilizer has a long-term effect and can be easily worked into the soil. The location should be bright to sunny and warm. Water generously. At night, the temperature should not fall below 16°C.
Pepper plants always look neat and become even more beautiful when the fruits turn from green to red in late summer/early autumn or decorate the balcony or terrace in yellow or dark purple. Then the harvest takes place and you can use this healthy vegetable in a variety of ways. Enjoy your meal!
- Use suitable humus-rich soil or ready-made special soil.
- It is best to sow in pots straight away. February to April is ideal. For outdoor cultivation, the end of April to mid-May is sufficient. The cultivation period is 12-14 weeks, depending on the variety.
- Fertilize generously with tomato/pepper fertilizer or lots of compost.
- For good soil, you should water a lot, as the plants develop few roots and therefore cannot store much.
- Give the young plants a stick to support them
- Break out the first flower/fruit. This increases the yield of the ripening fruit.
- The water used for irrigation must not be colder than 14°C.
