San Marzano / 10 seeds
(Lycopersicon esculentum)
San Marzano tomato
Variety description: The strong and productive San Marzano tomato is an Italian classic. The plant is very resistant to diseases and produces attractive, oval-elongated fruits. These fleshy tomatoes are about 12 cm long, weigh about 90 grams and are perfect for direct consumption, for cooked dishes, salads and sauces.
The plant can be cultivated both indoors and outdoors. The harvest is medium late, very productive and the tomato impresses with its exceptionally good taste.
Cultivation: The seeds for tomatoes can be sown from the beginning of January to the end of May. At 20° - 25°C the seeds germinate after 5 - 14 days. For faster germination you can pre-soak the seeds overnight in a damp cloth. Always pre-grow on the windowsill or in the greenhouse until mid-March. The tomato plants can only be put outside after the frost.
Care: The cultivation temperature is 18° - 20°C and should not be below 14°C at night. Loose, humus-rich and moist soil is suitable. Good, uniform soil is sufficient. Sunny and wind-protected locations are ideal for rapid and healthy growth.
