Variety description: This chili hybrid, which has already won several awards, is a potted plant that grows small and compact at 50-60 cm in height and is therefore suitable for even the smallest balcony.

And the really unusual thing about it are the purple-black leaves and the round, 2-3 cm large dark purple fruits. They shine like shiny black pearls and ripen from dark purple to red.

A splendor of colors that also applies to the flowers in early summer. These appear in a delicate pink-purple tone.

When growing in pots, a container with a diameter of around 12 cm is sufficient. But you can of course also choose a larger plant container. 18-25 cm is just as possible.

On the Scorville heat scale, the 'Black Pearl' variety is at 20,000-30,000, which corresponds to a heat level of 7-8 and is one of the more pleasantly mild varieties.

The perennial potted chili can be harvested all year round.

The plant can be kept outside in the summer and is simply brought inside in the winter when it is cold. It loves bright to full sun locations and only moderate amounts of water. Cultivation: The ideal sowing time is from February to the end of April. At 20-26° C, germination takes place after 8-14 days.

Cultivation: The potted chili feels most comfortable at a daytime temperature of around 22° C. The nighttime temperature can drop to 16° C. The water used for watering should always be at room temperature - but definitely not colder than 14° C.
